Welcome to Summit Research

Working Together For Better Future Treatments & Better Health

Summit Research Network has been dedicated to delivering top-notch research and patient care. As a crucial resource, many turn to us as their first point of contact for information and assistance regarding medical conditions. Our multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, and clinicians is tirelessly working towards discovering more effective treatments and medical breakthroughs.

We conduct research studies on approved and investigational medications for a range of physical and emotional ailments. Some studies aim to deepen our understanding of existing medications, such as optimizing dosage regimens. Additionally, we delve into medications not widely accessible, exploring expanded applications like evaluating whether a known treatment for depression could be effective for anxiety. Every prescription medication in the U.S. undergoes a rigorous scientific evaluation process to determine its approval and accessibility to the public.

Frequently Asked Questions

We created this FAQ section to provide you with answers to questions that we commonly hear from patients. However, if you still have questions, please call us at 503-228-CARE (2273) for more specific answers to your important questions.

The main purpose of clinical trials is research aimed at testing the effectiveness of new and existing treatments, medications, vaccinations, and medical devices in people. Clinical trials are carefully designed and regulated by study sponsors and executed by our team to add to medical knowledge and medical advancements related to the treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of diseases or conditions.

These trials are the primary way researchers find out if new treatments are safe and effective for the public’s use. The research on new treatments and devices is how we develop new standards of care and prevention!

Yes, you can stay on your current medication while you participate in a study. Oftentimes we actually require you to be on a stable dose of your medication during your participation.

We recommend you share all your health information with your doctor, but ultimately it’s up to you! You are not required to let your doctor know about your study participation but in turn, we are also happy to translate any necessary information to your doctor for you!

You don’t always have to be previously diagnosed to participate in a trial, but for some trials, a previous diagnosis is required.

Every medication and treatment that passes through Summit Research has been previously tested on humans and been declared safe for further testing.

Our clinical trials are double-blind trials meaning that neither the patients nor the researchers know who is getting a placebo and who is getting the treatment. A control group is given a placebo while another group is given the drug (or treatment) being studied. That way, we can compare the drug's effectiveness against the placebo's effectiveness.

You are allowed to remove yourself from a study at any point in the process. However, don't ghost us! We won't be mad. Because the nature of our work is reporting, we'd love to understand your reasons for leaving the study and collect materials back from you when necessary.

One of the biggest reasons individuals participate in clinical research studies is to play an active role in their own health. Other people participate because they have exhausted their treatment or are dissatisfied with their current treatment options and they want to help researchers find more effective solutions than what is currently available.
